President, CEO & Founder
Hirao Noriaki was born in 1983. He has experience in three creations and one liquidation of companies in the entertainment, semiconductor, IoT, and cybersecurity fields. As a student, he studied in a wide range of fields, including aero-space engineering, organic chemistry and marketing in the United States and even presented a co-authored marketing paper at an international conference. He was also engaged in the establishment of a student venture, which was creating content for Hollywood movies and home game machines (PlayStation series).
After graduating from the California State University Northridge School of Marketing, he Joined SOFTBANK MOBILE in 2008. He was the winner of the national mobile sales contest and two in-house Awards in the same year. Joined the Business Promotion Division in June 2010, where he worked with companies interested in partnership contracts (MVNO) and new business creations such as agricultural IoT projects, mobile healthcare, photovoltaic, and many more. In addition, he was DWH Level4 user and responsible for data analysis of customer information on a digital signage device, which held 1.5 million users at the time, and was engaged in planning new services.
In the second half of 2011 he signed a joint development and research agreement with Tohoku University as a technology licensing company for the next generation of semiconductors (smartphones, photovoltaic, IoT etc.), which focused on 500 different patent strategies. (Capital: 6Million USD, largest shareholders: the biggest semiconductor company in the United States and major domestic telecommunication carrier).
In January 2014 he experienced company liquidation.
From February 2014 he joined Sercomm Japan Corporation, an IoT vendor headquartered in Taiwan, as a Business development manager.
Starting from January 2015, he began working as a New Business Innovation Officer for IoT at Wireless Gate — one of the Top 10 ten listed companies in Japan with the highest profit on a per person basis.
After facing many successes and failures, he founded the global start-up, Planetway Corporation in July 2015.
