Planetway selected for 2023 Kyoto Economic Gardening Business Support and Strengthening Project

Development and operation of a “data marketplace that actualizes a new imagining of the concept of basic income”

It is our pleasure to inform you that Planetway Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Noriaki Hirao, hereinafter Planetway) has been selected for the 2023 Kyoto Economic Gardening Business Support and Strengthening Project III. The project is full-scale business development course lead by Kyoto Industrial Support Organization 21, where Planetway will provide development and operation of a “data marketplace that actualizes a new imagining of the concept of basic income”.

About Kyoto Economic Gardening Business Support and Strengthening Project The Kyoto Economic Gardening Business Support and Strengthening Project is a sustainability project that aims to simultaneously improve productivity and create added value. By reviewing processes, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises trying to continue their business despite global competition and by accelerating technological progress. We support business initiatives with high potential, and three courses have been established according on the stage of commercialization.

About the founder Born in 1983, Noriaki Hirao is a three-time entrepreneur (with one liquidation), founding companies in entertainment, semiconductor and IoT fields. After graduating from California State University, after working for SoftBank Corp., Noriaki founded Planetway Corporation, a global startup (USA, Japan, Estonia) in 2015. In 2018, he accompanied the then Japanese Prime Minister Abe on a courtesy call to the Estonian Prime Minister as one of seven representative Japanese companies. In 2020, in an interview at the Davos Conference, Noriaki explained his own vision for the realization of an era of data sovereignty and the evolution of capitalism.
