Jaan Priisalu is a world-known authority in the security of infrastructure and information assets. He has more than 15 years of practical experience in handling cyber criminals and high level cyber attacks, serving as a deputy commander of the Cyber Defense Unit of Estonia.
Priisalu has served as the Head of IT risk management at Estonia's largest bank. He played an important role in dealing with cyber attacks that were launched against Estonia in 2007.
He has also worked as CTO (Chief of Engineering) and engineer for several emerging technology companies.
He holds a Master's degree from Tallinn Institute of Technology and Paul Sabatier University of Toulouse, France and is a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA).
In 2014 he received a White Star Medal from the President of the Republic of Estonia.
Priisalu was one of the leaders, who planned technical exercises at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence. He organized the gatherings of volunteers and security experts from his own agency and directed the White Team for several years. From July 4th, 2017, he became a member of the Planetway Advisory Board.
